Nicola Spence

Director, Airbus Programme, Spirit AeroSystems

Nicola Spence joined Spirit AeroSystems in April 2006 as part of the acquisition of BAE Systems’ Aerostructures business unit in the UK which created Spirit AeroSystems (Europe) Limited.

After originally joining BAE Systems in 2002, Nicola held a number of roles within the Finance Department before holding Director positions in Strategy, Business Development, and Programme Management. 

In 2018 Nicola was appointed Director, Airbus Programmes, and has overall responsibility for the P&L performance of the programmes, customer relationship management, and developing and executing strategic growth initiatives.

Nicola has an accountancy background having graduated with a BA Accounting & Finance from Strathclyde University in 1998 and qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 2002.

Nicola participates in a number of government-industrial bodies which support the growth of the UK Aerospace Industry and is Vice-Chair of the Scottish Aerospace Defence & Space Council.
