Gain hands-on industry experience and build your skills in the fast-growing offshore wind sector through this paid summer internship opportunity.

The Scottish–Irish Offshore Wind Internship Pilot is a paid 12-week internship programme taking place over summer 2026.

In Scotland, NMIS will recruit and support students for placements with offshore wind companies and businesses across the supply chain, giving participants practical experience in real industry environments. A further cohort of students will take part in Ireland through delivery partners.

Through this initiative, we are helping to develop the skilled workforce needed to support the continued growth of offshore wind and renewable energy.

Due to strong demand, we are currently reviewing candidates from existing NMIS internship applications. Students can register their interest by Thursday 9 April to be considered for any remaining opportunities this year or future NMIS internship programmes by providing a CV and a paragraph on why they are interested in Offshore Wind via NMIS.

The internship pilot is led in Scotland by NMIS, operated by the University of Strathclyde, and delivered in partnership with Propel Ireland, with support from the Scottish and Irish Governments.
