2019 | Data driven manufacturing

Student: Paulius Stugla

Project aim

A framework that will aid the Scottish textiles industry towards a better understanding of the Industry 4.0 paradigm, followed by specific use cases of Industry 4.0 within textiles manufacturers.

Project background

As the term Industry 4.0 is just shy of a decade since its first introduction, the maturity and wide acceptance of the concept have shown great implications for the industrial sector. With the available information and technology that enables companies to connect their operations, people, and supply chains, the challenge remains the same - closing the knowledge gap and developing a viable strategy that creates business value.

This research will focus on the Scottish textiles industry and will investigate the potential implications that Industry 4.0 has for this sector, having a key focus on sustainability and innovation.
