Andreas Reimer
Program lead for Remanufacturing
Andreas is a Strategic Program (Theme) Lead and Manufacturing (R&D) Engineer with expertise in machining optimisation, additive manufacturing, and remanufacturing at NMIS. He completed his Engineering Doctorate at the University of Strathclyde, with a specific focus on the optimization of high-speed die machining processes. Prior to his doctoral studies, he served as a Research Assistant at the University of Magdeburg in Germany, where he contributed to innovative research in his field.
Andreas pursued his education in Industrial Engineering with a concentration on production engineering, acquiring valuable knowledge and skills that have proven to be invaluable in the filed of additive manufacturing.
Dr. Evgenia Yakushina
Principal knowledge-exchange fellow
Dr. Evgenia Yakushina, CEng, PhD, serves as the Principal Knowledge-Exchange Fellow, NMIS, bringing over 17 years of combined experience in management, manufacturing, and research.
Her extensive career includes more than 10 years in leadership positions as a Senior Manufacturing Engineer and Forming Team Leader. Throughout these years, she has honed her strategic and business development acumen, along with substantial project management expertise, successfully delivering over 100 projects at both national and international levels.
Dr. Yakushina currently holds the prestigious position of Strategic Programme Manager for one of the most significant strategic programs at NMIS (Coalition for Wind Industry Circularity, CWIC).
Paul Cantwell
Head of net zero programme
Paul Cantwell is Head of Net Zero Programs at the National Manufacturing Institute Scotland supports the field of resource efficient manufacturing and remanufacturing within High Value sector (Wind, Rail, Aircraft Decommissioning, Energy sector). Identify sector specific programs, building sector roadmaps and identifying program opportunities within the Circular Economy & Remanufacturing, enabling industry on their Net-Zero journey.
Paul is passionate about enabling companies to recognise the economic benefits of transitioning to a more sustainable business model and unlocking commercial benefits and market competitive through the Net-Zero agenda.
Ahmed Elsayed
Modelling Theme Lead
Ahmed Elsayed is the Modelling Theme Lead at the Advanced Forming Research Centre (AFRC) at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, UK. With a master’s degree in mechanical engineering and over ten years of industry and academic experience, Ahmed is an expert in sheet metal forming, material testing, and process simulation.
At AFRC, he leads a team in innovative projects focused on lightweight materials and advanced sheet forming processes. His work includes alternative manufacturing methods, feasibility simulations for aerospace and automotive applications, process optimization, and springback reduction, contributing to advancements in forming technologies.
