Securing your business: the path to cyber security

This event has now ended. You can rewatch the webinar below, or visit our YouTube channel for all other webinars.

An organisation’s security is increasingly dependent on its ability to prepare for, respond to and recover from cyber-attacks.

Do you know what is needed to protect your company’s data, programmes, devices and networks? Do you know what kind of solutions are on offer to help overcome these threats?

In this webinar, the NMIS digital manufacturing team will be joined by cyber security expert, Makarand Karanjalkar of Sprytech, an AFRC Tier Two member, to help you answer these questions and talk you through the key issues regarding securing your data and critical digital infrastructure.

We’ll address the key concerns of manufacturers when it comes to adopting digital strategies and connecting their factories to the wider supply chain.  You will learn about the increasing number of threats facing companies and some of the solutions available.

We will also touch on the key features of the all-new NMIS Industry 4.0 testbed named RESuME (Resource Efficient Supply and Manufacturing Environment).  This particular testbed will incorporate a range of Industry 4.0 technologies with a key consideration for cyber security.  You will hear how your business can get involved in the early-stages of this programme.

Cutting across all manufacturing sectors including food and drink, aerospace, automotive, marine, textiles and agriculture, this webinar has something for anyone in the manufacturing world concerned about cyber security.

Working for over seven years in industry research, Andrew has focussed on developing sensor systems and machine learning algorithms for data analysis to help support innovation and leverage greater value from process data. He has experience in the aerospace, agricultural and pharmaceuticals sectors.

Working alongside colleagues in the National Manufacturing Institute Scotland’s digital manufacturing team, Andrew's core research is on realising the economic potential of data across the manufacturing supply chain and the security implications of Industrial IoT.

After many years of hands-on experience in various technologies, Makarand is a Cyber Security Specialist, an expert in assessing and mitigating system and network security threats and risks. He ensures corporate-wide security and compliance requirements are met across all systems and data for the enterprise.

Makarand helps organisations to establish system security designs in hardware, software, data and procedures to satisfy secure requirements and support secure system operations. As a security architect, Makarand sets user policies and protocols, monitors them and enforces them to set up countermeasures that protect the system when an unauthorized user attempts to gain access to the system.

As a co-founder of Sprytech, Makarand has vast experience & knowledge that spans mobile telecom, infrastructure, cyber security, cloud transformation, blockchain technology and AI that has been acquired over many years.
