Danny leads R&D activity across various technical areas covering Visualisation VR & AR, Industrial Internet of Things, Data Analytics, Automation, Metrology and Non-Destructive Testing.

Currently, Danny leads both the metrology and digital teams at NMIS and oversees the Smart Factory infrastructure for the NMIS Digital Factory, which opens in late 2022.

 

Working within our digital manufacturing team, Richard develops connectivity solutions for manufacturing machines and processes to support cyber physical systems and is part of the High Value Manufacturing Catapult digital manufacturing technology group developing the technology and strategic roadmaps to support UK Industry.

Before joining NMIS, Richard spent nearly 10 years in a senior manufacturing engineering role for Spirit AeroSystems Europe where he was responsible for the qualification and industrialisation of automated manufacturing systems of large aero structure assemblies.

Andrew is a senior research and development engineer within the NMIS digital manufacturing team where he is focused on developing technologies for digital transformation of manufacturing processes in partnership with industry and academia.

Working for the University of Strathclyde since 2013, Andrew has led projects within sensor systems and data analysis for industrial applications. Key successes include creating new data acquisition and control systems for aerospace manufacturing and MRO, data analysis for distributed sensor networks in agriculture, and developing machine learning systems for time-series data.
