NMIS Insights: embracing the next generation of 5 axis machining

This event has now ended. You can rewatch the webinar below, or visit our YouTube channel for all other webinars.
Join the National Manufacturing Institute Scotland, in collaboration with NIKKEN, Matsuura and Triag Workholding for a unique insight into cutting edge machining strategies using the newest generation of Sandvik Coromant solid round tools, indexable milling, and drill tools.

Finding ways to improve machining processes can be difficult, especially across established industries such as automotive, aerospace, oil and gas, and energy. Here we will explore how embracing the latest generation of 5 axis machines can make huge improvements to planning, design, in-machining and machining analysis, reducing both operating costs and downtime.

During this session, we’ll also provide a full 5-axis milling demonstration showing the machining of an extra-large prime insert along with a demonstration of the Tool ID manager software created by Elbo Controlli NIKKEN to manage and control tool identification data.

With over 30 years’ experience in an industrial and research environment. Crawford leads the Machining team within NMIS.
